Symposium Details

Date: September 9, 2026
Time: 6:00-8:00pm
Location: DDS Atrium

Call for Posters

We welcome poster submissions that outline your industry internship experiences. Poster content should include:

  • Background: Your name along with the company where you completed your internship and title your internship position.
  • Experience: An overview of your internship project and overall experience.
  • Technical Skills: Technical skills necessary for your internship and any technical challenges you overcame.
  • Social Skills: Describe any social or interpersonal skills that were essential for collaboration.
  • Connection to VT: What courses prepared you for success in your internship position? In addition, which concepts are missing in the VT curriculum that you think should be added?

Submission Details

Deadline: TBD
Poster: Prepare your poster according to the following guidelines:
  1. Make your posters 36" x 48" (or 48" x 36").
  2. All posters must be printed by the technical staff (We cannot print multiple versions because of typos and changes!)
  3. Avoid low-resolution graphics! 72dpi web graphics pixelate at poster size.
  4. Make your poster accessible (use high contrast colors, large and readable fonts, etc.)
  5. Use suggested tools for layout design (i..e, Microsoft Powerpoint, Apple Pages, Google Slides, etc.)
  6. Submit your poster as a pdf.

Registration

This event is open to all students, faculty, and guests interested in learning about CS-related internship opportunities and experiences. Undergraduate and graduate CS students may sign up to present.
